Duxie Franklin creates indie-folk/alternative pop shaped by expressive vocals, organic instrumentation and an art-leaning sensibility that gives her songwriting a distinctive, slightly avant-garde edge. She has been hailed as “one of Australia’s most unique and exciting emerging acts” (Happy Magazine Blog), with melodies often compared to Joni Mitchell, Kate Bush, Björk and Gillian Welch.

Melbourne/Naarm-based, Duxie is a multi-instrumentalist with a classical background in piano and violin. Her ethereal voice was described by Tiana Speter (The Soundcheck) as “a voice that melts quicker than an ice cream on a summer’s day”.

As a cross-disciplinary artist, Duxie’s creativity extends beyond songwriting and production into music video direction and editing, visual art, and the design and construction of costumes, jewellery and her own merchandise.
